Clocks slaying time

Amish country, Pennsylvania. Stayed in an inn over an ice-creamery where we were presented with a slab of fresh fudge every morning and walked around to the tune of faceless buggies passing in the street. Learned the ins and outs of Amish lifestyles and dietary prejudices/ indulgences (some aren't averse to a bit of McDonalds) and how to overtake a buggy in the darkest of dark.

The piercing cold and questionable food choices left a surprisingly not-so-unpleasant taste in our mouths and if you make a trip there soon, you probably won't find any clothes in the thrift stores. We bought them all.

This was the first time I'd worn a fedora in a good few months (I know, hard to believe since they once never left my head), being unable to bear the sight of them following fashion month. Basktime

A few hours on the Warsaw Express and I found myself caught up in what could only be described as a fairytale, the town of Poznan. Garbed in its Christmas best, it was all ice-sculpture contests, candied buildings, ornately decorated cafes, beautifully dressed old women, mahoganied antique nooks and toasty bookshops crammed with delicious books. Probably the closest to life as a doll as I could ever envisage for myself.

More on the way. In the meantime, I hope you're all having yourselves very joyful holidays.

When hunting for coats, I'm often nagged by a voice in my mind telling me to 'do brights' or 'go fitted' (pretty sure it's Ms. Generic Fashion Writer talking for that particular phraseology to be heralded). Favourite piece from the Missoni for Target collection which debuted at a private shopping event this evening - a mustard corduroy pea coat, priced at a chirpy $69.99. I know that as yet we are in the throes of the happiest season of the year and it is expected that we revel in the fleeting joy brought only by the months of summer, but being the joykill that I am, I have chosen to throw a little autumn inspiration at you. Layered formalwear unofficialised by a little sloppiness and a grungy demeanour. Preferably arrange to live life in black and white for an air of insouciance.
