Abridged

Not wanting to overwhelm anyone (and invariably doing exactly that), on the last day of the year I've put together some outfit shots from the last 12 months. Behind these lie a few of the stories of 2011, fond memories woven into the colours of each.

Chug for

This is an ode to my ghost train day.

Minus degrees outside.
No food.
No passengers.
No lights.
The odd unidentifiable shadow running past in the corridor.
Unknown time of arrival.
Questionable whether a destination even existed.
Strategies for survival formed.
A total of 9 hours.
It was really very brilliant (no sarcasm).

And of course, I took pictures.

Present resent

This was the first time I'd worn a fedora in a good few months (I know, hard to believe since they once never left my head), being unable to bear the sight of them following fashion month. I more than re-enjoyed the feeling of masculinity and plan on breaking out the big guns all over again. By big, I mean huge brims. And by huge brims, I probably mean something else.

Basktime

A few hours on the Warsaw Express and I found myself caught up in what could only be described as a fairytale, the town of Poznan. Garbed in its Christmas best, it was all ice-sculpture contests, candied buildings, ornately decorated cafes, beautifully dressed old women, mahoganied antique nooks and toasty bookshops crammed with delicious books. Probably the closest to life as a doll as I could ever envisage for myself.

More on the way. In the meantime, I hope you're all having yourselves very joyful holidays.

Warmfit

When hunting for coats, I'm often nagged by a voice in my mind telling me to 'do brights' or 'go fitted' (pretty sure it's Ms. Generic Fashion Writer talking for that particular phraseology to be heralded). This voice and I, we aren't very good friends. I have a list, you see, and coats must oblige me of at least 2 of the following if they are to win a place in my wardrobe:
