Basktime












A few hours on the Warsaw Express and I found myself caught up in what could only be described as a fairytale, the town of Poznan. Garbed in its Christmas best, it was all ice-sculpture contests, candied buildings, ornately decorated cafes, beautifully dressed old women, mahoganied antique nooks and toasty bookshops crammed with delicious books. Probably the closest to life as a doll as I could ever envisage for myself.

More on the way. In the meantime, I hope you're all having yourselves very joyful holidays.

  37. Gorgeous, moody photography. Your description of Poznan makes it sound like the perfect holiday retreat... ice sculpture contests are only something we could dream of in warm ol' Texas! I love the photo of the couple looking at each other and the girl holding roses; it's such a touching photograph, and even from a design standpoint it's so perfectly balanced. Gah, I love your blog!

  38. Wow, I can't believe you just visited my country. It's just very suprising, not many people travel to, or even through Poland. I'm glad it left you with such a good impression. Poland has its flaws, I have to admit, but after all it's a nice place to live. And it looks very nice at Christmas time indeed. I hope you will come back one day to see more of our country :) Oh and since it is the first time I'm commenting on your blog I will say what all the other people say (which doesnt make it any less true!) - I love it.
