Host no thrills

-9°C is cold. For England. As the snow turned to ice, Verdel swooped down in all its downy glory and saved my ears and digits from falling off. Cue hood and arm warmers. Made from the softest, warmest cashmere wool it was all I could do to stop stroking my hooded head (it's not just a blogger pose thing, I swear!). The structure of the hood is the kind that stands up by itself - a necessity for us oddly shaped headed folk. Furthermore, I'm convinced that the fingerless gloves that go right up to my armpit are fashion's way of finally permitting me to wear the short sleeved coats I've been buying and not wearing for fear of losing my arms to frostbite. Win.

Verdel make turbans, aviator style hats in the same luxurious cashmere and if you live in colder climates or you're a wimp in the cold, like me, I promise the arm warmers will improve your outdoor life elevenfold. Head on over.

Fast people

If you thought it wasn't physically possible for me to stretch out LFW any further, you were WRONG. A few more details I enjoyed during the course of the week.

You've probably seen the Style Diaries book dotted around other blogs. It chronicles personal facts and photo stories from bloggers across the globe, of whom I am excited to be one. Get your copy here and stalk your faves, guilt free!

Chanel. From the pearl mouthed lions, to the carrot cake canapes, to the logo emblazoned tennis rackets - every surface at the press day was touched by refinement and beauty. Probably did too much prodding and stroking that day.

Tabular array

A few weeks ago, I paid a visit to the Tabio shop on Kensington High Street. I was afronted by neatly stacked rows upon rows of rainbow hued foot garb, to sweetshop effect. It was visual honey. Captivated, I came away with these yelp-inducing cable knit rust numbers - the new ruler(s) supreme of my sock drawer.

This coat makes me do strange things with my arms. Sorry.

With bells and buffalos

Much of my internet playtime is spent trawling Flickr and photography blogs, gawking at my favourite photographers' work. Cue Alison Scarpulla. Her images are moody, imperfect, otherwordly, macabre, oddly serene and everything else I look for in the ultimate shot. I'd recommend clearing your schedules to pore over her every image.

Feul the water

At the beginning of September, Fossil invited Aimee, Taylor, Connie and myself to the Dallas headquarters to style their Holiday Lookbook. It was 3 days of heavenly food, tantalising garments and irrepressible guffawing (and we befriended Tim, the awesome khaki-wearing, Harley-riding brain behind the Fossil tin). I couldn't help fawning over these desert boots and this fur hat and drowned myself in their deliciously hued menswear pieces for the shoot - see more of the looks, my sullen face and the others' radiant smiles here.

A big thank you to the ever hospitable Fossil team for making our stay so enjoyable and just generally being top notch dudes.

Singed resolve

No Halloween shots I'm afraid, but I feel as though these shots sufficiently cover the creep factor. This me, not looking like me, doing some American Apparel lovin'.

I finally decided to become active on the Facebook account I once set up and halfheartedly promised myself to use. I'll be adding outtakes and other shots from my adventures so add me here for a new take on FrouFrouu. [Note to self: third person is not becoming].
