LFW: Day 1

Any narratives I volunteer would probably not do justice to the thrilling time had.

Locations: Somerset House, Victoria House, Susheel's roof terrace, Metal Magazine party at Runway.

People involved: Hassan, the brother; Frances; Audrey; Michael; Susheel; Daniella; little bits of Yvan.

CAROLINE CHARLES

Apart from the occasional appearance of some rather glorious aviator hats, I found Caroline Charles to be a little too grown up for my taste, despite my current love for calf-length hems. The outlook was somewhat confused, with the apparent retro theme fluctuating between clean 20/30s silhouettes (winners), to what appeared to be dated mumsy uniforms of the nineties, to attire reminiscent of that befuddled period in the mid noughties. The tweeds sat well, but perhaps a better stylist (hi there, Caroline) would not have gone amiss. Would not kick those badboy hats out of bed.

AMINAKA WILMONT

In the follow up to their Fashion Fringe win, Aminaka Wilmont saw through a predominantly monotone palette, a slightly predictable but agreeable continuation of the neutrals in their winning collection. The appearance of yet more digital prints prompted a few, albeit muted, inward groans, but the long, lean, layered silhouettes negated any initial misgivings and I left smiling (this may have been partially owing to the characters in my previous post).

Vikings and spitings

Hello loves, just back from London and as I predicted, I report to you from a proverbial deathbed. The trekking between Victoria House to Somerset House in heels on cobblestones in the freezing conditions on virtually no sleep seems to have taken its toll. Who am I kidding, LFW was more marvelous than I could have imagined. I am unfortunately relying on other sources for full outfit shots, but shall relive days 1-3 in detail soon. Meanwhile feel free to mock Audrey, Frances, Susheel and I here, as we jabber awkwardly on ASOS tv. Good times had with fellow bloggers, new and old friends.

I am oh-so-honoured to be featured in Forbes' '
Most Fashionable Women In Cyberspace' and 'The Rise of the Style Blogger'. No words.

P.s. There is a reason I didn't post a proper shot of dude's hat.

Feel this ague

Taken around 6.27 mintues ago as I build up the courage to go out into the biting cold.

Hat: vintage
Coat: vintage

I am beginning to think pneumonia type thoughts as I consider the flimsy nature of most of my planned LFW attire. In addition to the inevitable illness, I shall hopefully return laden with photos and reports of the shows attended/ parties crashed/ territory claimed/ feet broken/ bodies exhausted. Meanwhile, enjoy your weekend, Reader.

The contents of my mail are getting me pretty darn excited for London Fashion Week, not gonna lie. Perhaps I'll see some of you there - do say hello if you spot me, I'll be the one on the floor nursing my feet.

I am sending Valentine's chocolate thoughts to all Froufrouu readers. If there are any issues with delivery, please contact my brain. Thank you for you. You too. And you.

P.S. RIP Lee McQueen, the world has lost a beautiful mind.

Sometimes always

Thank you for the pretty things you have lurking in the depths of your wardrobe, Mother dearest.

Hat: vintage
Trousers: vintage
Blazer: ebay
Bag: vintage, Mother's wardrobe

Following much to-ing and fro(uu)-ing, I finally signed up to Twitter. All reservations about feeling utterly stupid talking to myself vanished when it occured to me that I have a blog, this is what I do.

Not too sure how long this will last, but if you feel so inclined, follow me here.

Foxes preaching

I thought I had just about managed to console myself on account of not being able to afford the Wendy BRANDES collections in their entirety when Wendy YUE's little pieces of nirvana hurled themselves at my consciousness. The vibrantly hued rings, encrusted with a variety of bejewelled species are just what I would like to be gracing all my fingers. And probably my toes.

Hi Mr. Bank Manager.
