Turns snow and silk and milk to dust

You’ll be pleased to know that following a flurry of unusually comfortable footwear purchases, these shoes, worn over a period of time, border on hellish – I think it’s something to do with lack of support around my ankles, who knew it wasn't just a love for boots, but a NEED for the bracing? The usual ball-of-foot pain was not so much of an issue, more disturbing was the induction of an unfamiliar talocrural tingling. The 6 inches of curved, patent bliss DO, however, compensate. Once one adjusts to the balancing and ignores the accompanying affliction, the feeling of loftiness atop such beauties, is really rather wonderful.

I have no words for the perfection of the shirt, so here:

Declivity of the day

The classic white shirt. I'm contemplating running a white shirt feature on Froufrouu, as a tribute to the one garment that represents all that is stylish to me.

Dress over shirt, socks over socks over tights over tights. Belt it up with a ribbon, et voila. I feel like a parcel. Yes, enough with the shoes, I know. Record. Changing.

A fickle siren song

Holiday-esque sweaters! True, I can barely fit my head through this one, but for days when I don't mind tolerating a bit of a headache, this sweater is all meadows and rainbows.

Loveliest vision, faded hierarchy

Yes, please. After all, who doesn't need and want embroidered first edition covers of the greats to tuck under ones arm, to pair with everything, to collect, to not be able to stop looking at? Even if the $1500 price tag is too much for my little purse to handle, if nothing else I've been hauled back into my love for all things tapestry.

I love you Olympia Le Tan. I do.

The last unicorn

'The spirits of the air live in the smells
Of fruit; and Joy, with pinions light, roves round
The gardens, or sits singing in the trees.'
Thus sang the jolly Autumn as he sat,
Then rose, girded himself, and o'er the bleak
Hills fled from our sight; but left his golden load.

Skipping the light fandango

I am so incredibly lazy - still haven't got round to hemming these shorts so I tucked them under to prevent monotony. Slapping own wrists.

As for these boots. LACES. TAN. OVER THE ANKLE. CHUNKY HEEL. IMPOSSIBLY COMFORTABLE. Kay, I'll stop with the caps now. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be wear these boots far too much and they will either a) die a most untimely death through wear and tear b) be stolen from the depths of my wardrobe c) be run over by a car. The inevitable woes of loving an item of clothing/ shoes too much. Did I mention how much I love them?

Cosine wave, Sine wave

I picked up the COS lookbook this weekend – as far as basic promotional material goes, this is pretty wonderful. 60 something pages of interviews, articles, beautiful imagery, all aside from the seasonal collection and spread out over an a3 matt finish magazine. With their lookbook being almost a publication in its own right, does COS really still need to justify itself through further, costly brand strategies or has it already found its foothold? Regardless, I suggest you pick one up instore for a delectable visual journey.

In other news: thanks to the girls over at We Were Damsels for their marvellous feature.

How has it managed to get so cold in the last two days, pray tell? Currently hanging on to autumn for all it's worth.
