If souls should only sheen so bright In heaven as in e’thly light, An’ nothen better wer the cease, How comely still, in sheape an’ feace, Would many reach thik happy pleace, — The hopevul souls that in their prime Ha’ seem’d a—took avore their time, — The young that died in beauty.
Another day, another menswear waistcoat – what can I say, the oversized nature provides the perfect level of slouchiness but the associations with the garment itself allow that scintilla of finesse. The forms beneath, below and on top just happen themselves - so beautifully easy.
Nothing but admiration for Louise Simmonds’ whimsical fairytale meets gothic Altar collection. Velvets and silks culminate in exaggerated shapes, an array of ruffled forms meet in displays of looming beauty and scrupulous details provide the proverbial cherry on top. I find myself requiring an assortment of long arm cuffs, perhaps embellished, perhaps textured. Inspired.
Pursuing my engrossment with all things tapestry, I found this vintage gem on ebay. Throwing sizing to the wind, I ended up with a pretty oversized treasure that necessitated minimal accessorising or complementation. I know everyone and their momma have these boots, but I love them too much to care, perfect chunkiness.

Me again. I’m aware that this is the second time I’m writing to you this year, but I’m an even better girl than a few months ago and I have a few more loves I’d like to add to my list. Can’t you see, Santa dearest, that the Wang boots will go with EVERYTHING I own? That the genie pumps will add wordless wonder to my every ensemble, that the baroque-esque heel of the Bally boots was made for my wardrobe and that LOUBOUTIN + LEOPARD+ ANKLE BOOT = HEAVEN? I eagerly await your response/ delivery.
